Bankura/Kolkata: The BJP on Sunday claimed that its MLA from Sonamukhi (Sonamukhi BJP MLA) in Bankura district, Dibakar Gharami, was attacked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers. Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Shubhendu Adhikari, in a late night tweet, alleged that Gharami was attacked by “trinamool Congress goons” in Manik Bazar panchayat area on Sunday. “Seven BJP workers were injured in the attack and have been sent to Bankura Medical College Hospital,” he said.

In a tweet, the officer who defeated Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, targeted the Chief Minister, saying, “Not even an MLA is safe in the jungle raj of a non-MLA CM. Terrible.”
However, Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biswas said he had no information about the incident. BJP MP also said that BJP MLA Dibakar Gharami and other BJP workers have been attacked from Sonamukhi in Bankura, West Bengal.
