UP: Woman leader of SP, fed up of indecency in police station, commits suicide, police denies allegation

Banda/Lucknow (UP): A woman leader of Samajwadi Party committed suicide in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. The woman’s family alleges that she had gone to the police station to complain about her son’s disappearance, where the police misbehaved with her. Angered by this, the female SP leader committed suicide. At the same time, the police claim that in a case of fraud, he was called by the police to Kotwali for questioning. Banda Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mahendra Pratap Singh Chauhan said that on Saturday evening, Sudha Raikwar (45), wife of Shriprasad Raikwar, a resident of Chilla Road Mawai bypass of Kotwali area of ​​the city, committed suicide by hanging herself in the house. He told, “The woman and her husband and son were running a private bank called ‘Ram Mudra’. During this he had deposited the amount of many people. For not returning the money, a person named Deepak Shukla had lodged an FIR against him for cheating on Saturday, on which the police was called to the city Kotwali for questioning. The ASP said that the woman allegedly committed suicide around 5 pm on her way home after being questioned by the police. On the other hand, the woman’s daughter Roshni told that her brother has been missing since Friday, to inform about which her mother, along with her maternal uncle Ramkaran, had gone to the city Kotwali, where the police allegedly abused the mother and locked her in the lock-up. Roshni alleged, “The mother has committed suicide out of anger at the indecency of the police.” Responding to a question, ASP Chauhan denied the allegation of indecency with the woman and said, “The woman had not earlier informed the police about her son’s disappearance. After the woman committed suicide, a case of kidnapping has been registered on the complaint of her daughter.
