The Yogi government has imposed Kovid cess to fight revenue from the second wave of epidemic. After the Kovid cess, the prices of liquor will increase from Rs 10 to Rs 10. Officials said that due to the second wave of Corona, the lockdown and weekend lockdown is being increased continuously. In such a situation, the department is losing revenue. To meet this, the Excise Policy 2021-22 has been amended. The Kovid cess has been increased by modifying it. Due to this, liquor has now become expensive from Rs 10 to Rs 40. Let us tell you that the government had imposed Kovid cess during the epidemic last year, which was removed from April this year. The government has amended the Excise Policy 2021-22 to impose a special additional cess on regular category liquor at Rs 10 per 90 ML. Similarly, an additional cess of Rs 10 per 90 ML on premium category liquor, Rs 20 per 90 ML on Super Premier, Rs 30 per 90 ML on Scotch and Rs 40 per 90 ML on imported liquor has also been imposed. In the last 24 hours, 38,687 patients became infection-free relative to newcomers.
