To meet this, the Excise Policy 2021-22 has been amended. The Kovid cess has been increased by modifying it. Due to this, liquor has now become expensive from Rs 10 to Rs 40. The government has amended the Excise Policy 2021-22 to impose a special additional cess on regular category liquor at Rs 10 per 90 ML. Similarly, an additional cess of Rs 10 per 90 ML on premium category liquor, Rs 20 per 90 ML on Super Premier, Rs 30 per 90 ML on Scotch and Rs 40 per 90 ML on imported liquor has also been imposed.
