World University Rankings: Three Indian higher education institutions have made it to the top 200 educational institutions in the world in the QS World University Rankings. In the rankings, among the top 200 educational institutions of the world, IIT Bombay has come at 177th, IIT Delhi at 185th and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore at 186th position. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has expressed happiness over this. At the same time, IIT Delhi Director Professor V Ramgopal Rao has said that we will continue to make our contribution through scientific research. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that I am extremely happy and proud to share that 22 Indian universities have been ranked among the top 1000 universities in the QS World University Rankings. At the same time, 18 universities have ranked in the top 200 universities in the recently released Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings.
Nishank said that in the last few years, our higher educational institutions have recently performed well in all types of rankings. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have come up with a new education policy which will motivate our higher educational institutions to perform better. It will help them to establish a new identity on the global stage. Indian education system has always been appreciated in the world. With the provisions given in the new education policy, the standards of education in all universities will be higher.
Nishank said that I have full confidence that our universities will fulfill the vision of the Prime Minister to establish India as a world leader with their better performance. Commenting on the QS World University Rankings 2022, Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi said, No ranking can be a good measure of institutional performance. Especially for a technology focused institute like IIT Delhi. However, IIT Delhi has further improved its ranking. We will continue to contribute to India and the world through scientific, technical education and research.
