According to the health department bulletin, a total of 233 cases of Covid-19 have been found in the state till Saturday, where 2,4747,5799 people have been rescued. With this, the recovery rate in the state has been 97.61 percent. The bulletin states that the number of Kovid-9 patients treated in the state is 469,699, and the death toll is 1,433. The state government has released a list of Covid-19 safety guidelines for students and staff of educational institutions that have been open since Monday. The decision to reopen academic institutions, including both public and private schools, for classes 9 and 12 from January 4, 2021, was taken at a meeting of the Crisis Management Group (CMG) on December 16, 2020. Classes will be conducted with 50 per cent attendance to comply with the rules of maintaining social distance in schools which will be open from class IX to XII. In addition, masks will be made mandatory for everyone on campus. Kumar said, ‘It is compulsory for all students to wear masks on campus. Without it they will not be allowed to enter the campus. Apart from this, classes 9 to 12 will be conducted with 50 percent attendance so that the rules of social distance can be followed in the classes.
He said two masks would be distributed among school children. He said teachers would be made aware of the Covid-19 guidelines that should be followed in the classroom. Kumar said the management of the institute would ensure sanitation of its campuses. “School officials will look into whether a student is suffering from fever or any symptoms of the virus,” Kumar said.
The principal secretary said the medical examination of the students would be done in government schools on ‘random’ basis. Sources said the coaching centers would have to plan to start classes with physical attendance of students while maintaining social distance within the classroom and seek prior permission from the regional authorities. The Bihar government announced the closure of all schools, colleges, coaching institutes, zoos and public parks on March 13, 2020 as a precaution against the corona virus epidemic.
