A meeting of the school education department was held to review the preparations for the distribution of tablets, which was attended by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. On the other hand, Assam Education Minister Himanta Bishwa Sarma said that as a first step in promoting girls’ education, every girl going to school will get Rs 100 per day to attend classes. Sarma said the state government is currently distributing 22,000 two-wheelers under the Pragya Bharati scheme for students who have cleared Class XII from the state board. The minister said a plan of Rs 100 per day would be launched by the end of this month. However, he did not provide any information about the financial loss of the government in its implementation. He said the state board would provide scooters to all students who have passed first class from the state board, even if the number exceeds one lakh. He said scooters would also be provided to all female students who passed 12th class in the first class in 2018 and 2019.
