The brother-in-law who drowned in the Singra Nala pond in Satarganj, Uttarakhand, has died. It is feared that the accident took place when the boat capsized. The divers somehow managed to pull out the bodies of the two after trying for hours.
According to sources, Anjali, 22, daughter-in-law of Jagadish, 22, a resident of Mainajundi village in Ramprasad’s Baspas Colony village, came to her sister’s house on Sunday. Jagadish has the work of a lion. It is said that in the afternoon Jagadish went to a nearby pond to remove the water chest, Anjali also went with him. When the two did not return for a long time, Jagadish’s father Prem Raj reached the pond to call them, but neither of them showed up.
The boat was in the pond, Jagadish’s jacket was in the pond. Prem Raj called the villagers for fear of unrest. When divers in the village started searching the pond, after many attempts, the bodies of Jagadish and Anjali were found. The boat is expected to capsize due to imbalance during the withdrawal of Singhad and both drowned.
On the other hand, Kotwal Salauddin Khan, Chowki in-charge Harbind Kumar, Tehsildar Parameshwari Lal, Lekhpal Trilochan Suyal also reached the spot. The bodies of the two have been sent for autopsy. The tehsildar said a report of the incident has been sent to higher authorities.
Chaos in both families
The deaths of Jagadish and Anjali have caused quarrels in both the families. According to family members, Jagadish has a wife and two daughters. He said that although he was feared to have drowned in the preliminary investigation, he is awaiting the report of the autopsy.
