In western UP, including Meerut, there has been a movement for compensation for highways, expressways, etc. for about two months now. Meanwhile, voter amendments regarding three-tier panchayat elections were announced. Elections are expected in January-February next year. In such a situation, the movement is intensifying even in the fragrance of panchayat elections. Tickets will be claimed on the basis of participation in the movement. The intelligence department has sent a report to senior officials in this regard.
The agitation has been going on for two months between Dasna and Meerut on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway demanding equal compensation. The movement is being led by Ghaziabad district farmer leader and former district panchayat member Satish Rathi and Babli Gurjar. At the same time, SP leader Pawan Gurjar is also agitating in Partapur, Kashi, Achhonda, Bhudabral, Solana and other places for the panchayat elections. Several village chiefs have joined them. BDC members are also involved in this movement somewhere.
Politics about the Ganga Expressway alignment
On August 2, the new alignment of the Meerut-Prayagraj Ganga Expressway was published on the UPDA website. After that, the politics of the people’s representatives associated with Kharkhoda, Panchayat in Kitho area of the district intensified. The district was earlier lined up with 32 villages, starting from Kashi on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. In the study report of the consultant it was first described as a new alignment from Hajipur. The alignment was later finalized near Bijuli. District Panchayat member Satpal Singh is campaigning for Hajipur alignment. On the other hand, Headman and other members of the other village are connected. People from all parties have now joined the movement on other issues. Suddenly picketing-demonstrations have also intensified.
Report sent to higher authorities
The Intelligence Department has sent reports to high-ranking officials regarding the movement. It is being said that there may be movement on small issues in the future. Preparations are underway for panchayat elections in every village. People are reaching out to farmers and villagers on every issue. In such a situation, administrative caution is known to be urgent.
