Video: There is good news for Meerut travelers from the capital Delhi. On this day i.e. from 1st April the Delhi-Meerut Expressway has been opened to the general public. The expressway has now been launched following the approval of the Central Roads and Transport Highways. The Delhi-Meerut Expressway cost Rs 8,386 crore. Under the entire project, 72 km of 14-lane roads have been constructed, which includes a 0 km long expressway and a 22 km long national highway. After the construction of the expressway, the two-and-a-half hour journey from Delhi to Meerut will now end in 45 minutes. Security measures have also been taken on the expressway and cameras have been installed at various places so that strict action can be taken against those who break the traffic rules. After the start of the expressway, those who go to Delhi Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar will benefit from here. This will improve communication between Delhi and Uttarakhand.
For the first time on this expressway, automatic number plate reader technology has been implemented, so that passengers no longer have to stop at toll plazas and taxes can be deducted from bank accounts. With the construction of this expressway, pollution is expected to be greatly reduced and fuel costs will be reduced.
