Preparations for the Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections have begun. According to an order issued by State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar, the voter list revision program will start from October 1 following the Covid-19 protocol. Distribution with BLO and Supervisor Distribution Stationery distribution has started from September. These two works must be completed by 30 September.
From October 1 to November 12, BLOs will conduct house-to-house counts and surveys. Registering or revising the voter list will be an online task from October 1 to November 2. From November 6 to November 12, BLOs will be able to go door-to-door to verify applications received online. After that, from November 13 to December 5, the manuscript of the draft nomination will be made from the computer. The draft voter list will be published from December 2. The name, published in draft form, will be inspected from 6 to 12 December. Claims and objections will be received between 6 and 12 December. Claims and objections will be settled from 13 to 19 December. Thereafter, from 20 to 28 December, the manuscript will be processed in its original place. The final publication of the voter list in the state will be on December 29.
Please state that the term of the existing village heads of 59,163 gram panchayats in Uttar Pradesh will expire on 25th December. The term of the District Panchayat President ends on January 13, 2021 and the term of the Area Panchayat President ends on March 17, 2021.
