Gorakhnath police arrested a group of five people who stole mobile phones from people’s pockets in markets or crowded areas. One of the arrested was a woman. The accused are all from Jharkhand and West Bengal. They lived in a rented house in Gorakhnath area.
Members of international gangs also carried minors with them. The kids were taken to the market with them and through them they stole mobile phones. These people used to sell stolen mobiles in Jharkhand and West Bengal. Police recovered 24 stolen mobile phones at the spot. According to the police, the cost is around three lakh rupees. Police also recovered a sharp weapon and a pistol from them. Four incidents of theft of mobile phones recorded in Gorakhnath have been revealed. However, the police are still looking for the gang leader.
Revealing the arrest of the gang members at Gorakhnath police station on Tuesday afternoon, CO Gorakhnath / CO Crime Ratnesh Singh said that on Monday night, Gorakhnath police led by Inspector Ramna Singh reported the news to Debananda Kushwaha’s house at Humayun Puna crossroads. Five members of the mobile phone theft gang, including a woman, have been arrested. During interrogation, they were identified as Rabiul Sheikh, Jamirul Sheikh, Rahul Kumar, Santoshi Devi and Munna Kumar, residents of Kaliachak Sultanganj in West Bengal and Babupur Timpahar in Jharkhand. Police recovered 24 stolen mobile phones, pistols, cartridges and sharp iron weapons from them.
During interrogation, these people said that they used to rent Devananda’s house. He was not aware of their work. The members of this gang also keep minors with them. Through which they stole mobile phones from the pockets of the people of Vidabad area. They then sold the stolen mobile phones in Jharkhand and West Bengal. Police are now looking for the gang leader.
The victim got a team of mobile thieves
CO Gorakhnath Ratnesh Singh said Gorakhnath resident Shani Srivastava was buying vegetables at the market. At the same time his mobile phone was stolen. Saturn saw the thief fleeing with the phone. On Monday evening he went to Humayunpur for some work. At that time, his eye was on the mobile phone thief. He informed the police. According to him, the officer-in-charge of Gorakhnath police station Ramganna Singh, who came with the team, caught the mobile phone thief. The rest of the gang members were also arrested after questioning him. All the accused lived in a rented house at Devananda’s house in Humayunpur North.
