A young man was strangled to death in Khagi Mundera village of Hata Kotwali area of Kushinagar due to illicit relationship. The killer persuaded him home on Friday night. He was killed in a garden outside the village and was sitting at home in comfort. Police arrested him on suspicion. Strictly interrogated, he confessed to the murder. Police took the body to them and sent it for postmortem. The killer has been arrested.
On Saturday, villagers informed the Kotwali police after seeing the bloody body of a young man in a garden next to Khagi Mundera village in Hata Kotwali area. He was killed by suffocation. When Kotwali in-charge JP Pathak reached the spot and tried to identify the body, the villagers quickly identified it. This is Sheshmani, the son of 20-year-old Rahul of Ghortap Visva in the same region. Villagers said he had been driving tractor trolleys and loaders in the area for the past three to four months.
Upon hearing the news of the murder, the villagers rushed to the spot where people started discussing it. The villagers informed the police that a person from Khagi Mundera was supposed to see it further. Police have sent the body for postmortem. After receiving information from the relatives of the deceased, they started an investigation. He was found resting at home after police raided Hari’s house in the afternoon. Police took him and his wife into custody.
During interrogation, Hari confessed to the murder. He told police he was suspected of having an illicit affair with the woman in the family two months ago. As he began to watch, his suspicions shifted. He was then called home on Friday night as planned. The conversation took him to the garden and killed him.
