Delhi-Meerut Expressway: 40 new machines installed in three shifts

Work on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway is now on a war footing. The NHAI and the construction agency have given full power to the deadline to complete the work by 31 December so that the work can be completed by 31 December. For this 40 new machines have been installed from Dasna to Partapur Tirha. Now work has started in three shifts.

Following an investigation by senior officials at the NHAI and construction agency GR Infra, the construction agency has now exerted all its power. The agency has set a deadline separately. If no adverse order is received from NGT, EPCA or work stoppage, a 32 km expressway from Dasna to Meerut (Partapur) will be constructed by December 15. For this 40 new machines have been installed. At the same time the manpower has been doubled. The work has been completed up to 72 percent. Quick steps are being taken for the rest of the work. Manpower has now been deployed in three shifts for day and night work.

Earth filler work for exchange is intense

NHAI has expedited large-scale landfill work at three interchanges at Partapur Tirha on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Preparations were made to install a cerval between the two underpasses. Full filling of soil from Bahadurpur underpass to Delhi-Meerut railway. Large-scale soil filling is now underway from the railway line to the overbridge. Work is underway to block the two underpasses. Preparations were also expedited to widen the service road with soil filler from Partapur Tirhe to Ford showroom.

Farmers in Modinagar tehsil continue to protest

Farmers on the expressway continued to protest in Madininagar tehsil demanding equal compensation on the sixth day. Farmers announced a lockdown in the tehsil on October 20 during the Kisan Mahapanchayat. Farmers said that despite warnings, no official has yet discussed. On October 20, in support of the farmers’ mahapanchayat, it has been announced to stop the work of the tehsil completely. Farmer leader Bablu Gurjar, Satish Rathi, said the movement was reaching out to many political, social and peasant organizations. Many big leaders will be involved in the Mahapanchayat.
