In Uttar Pradesh, the demand for oxygen has increased one to two and a half times due to the continuous increase in the number of corona patients and their lung infections and difficulty in breathing. The use of oxygen is increasing due to the practice of keeping more patients on ventilators and reducing mortality. At the same time, the use of high-flow nozzle candula machines in place of ventilators has reduced mortality, although oxygen consumption is increasing increasing it consumes 50 to 60 liters of oxygen per minute.
The number of corona patients in the state has crossed three lakh 30 thousand. On an aver age, 6,500 to 7,000 new patients come to the state every day, with more serious patients getting lung infections. Additional Chief Secretary of State for Medical Education Dr Rajneesh Dubey said more infected people were being fitted with ventilators to save the lives of patients. The oxygen that was taken on August 1 has now increased one and a half times. One of the main reasons for this is the high flow nozzle candula machine. This has reduced the death rate from 1.44 to 1.42, which is the lowest in the country.
In Lucknow where 3000 to 3500 cylinders were required per day, now 1500 more cylinders are being installed every day. According to Brijesh Kumar, a drug inspector in the Food and Drug Administration, the number of critically ill patients has increased. Due to this the use of oxygen has also increased. The situation is similar in Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj. Even as the use of oxygen has increased with the increase in the number of patients in Covid hospitals in these districts, there is nothing to say about the lack of oxygen.
