It is alleged that the IRS officer had received this money as a bribe from the opium grower of the area. IRS officer Shashank Yadav, posted as General Manager in Government Opium Factory in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, has additional charge of similar post in Opium Factory in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. The ASP said that when the vehicle was searched, the ACB recovered Rs 15 lakh packed in sweets box and another amount of Rs 1,32,410 from Yadav’s laptop bag and purse. When asked about the source of the money, the IRS officers could not give a satisfactory answer after which he was arrested. He further said that the officials working in the opium factory have collected Rs 30 to 36 crore from about 6,000 opium producing farmers. Following the Anti-Corruption Bureau action, police said Yadav did not give details about the source of the total cash amounting to Rs 16,32,410 seized from his SUV registered in UP at Kota Hanging Bridge near toll plaza on Kota-Udaipur highway. Could.

ASP (ACB, Kota) Chandrasheel Thakur said that the ACB (Kota) officials received a tip-off that the workers of the Neemuch opium factory were allegedly dealing with opium cultivators in Chittor, Kota, Jhalawar and Pratapgarh areas of Rajasthan for more than 60 years. 80 thousand are being recovered.

The farmers of these regions of Rajasthan have to deposit their opium produce in the Neemuch opium factory in the neighboring state. It was also reported to the officials that both the factory workers were taking bribe through middlemen Ajit Singh and Deepak Yadav.

The ASP said that IRS officer Yadav was going to Ghazipur on the highway after taking bribe from these two people. The ACB was keeping a watch on him for the last few days. Acting on a tip-off, an ACB team stopped the vehicle in which the officer was traveling around 10.30 am.
