Earlier in the day, the Bombay High Court, hearing the plea of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, described the matter as “extraordinary” and said that Parambir Singh’s allegations were “extremely serious”. The court also directed the CBI to probe allegations of corruption against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh had accused Anil Deshmukh of inviting Sachin Waje to his house and paying him Rs 100 crore from bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels in Mumbai. Parambir Singh also wrote letters to Uddhav Thackeray and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshia in this regard.
