Fake note making gang exposed, 4 arrested, Rs 54 lakh in fake currency recovered

Madhya Pradesh Police has unearthed the inter-state gang involved in making fake notes and running them in the market.

Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Police has unearthed the inter-state gang involved in making fake notes and running them in the market. The police have arrested four people in this connection. Superintendent of Police (SP) Pradeep Sharma told reporters here on Sunday that the police have recovered fake currency worth Rs 54 lakh in denominations of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500. The SP said that on June 26, the police had arrested two people from Zirapur in Rajgarh district with fake notes of two thousand worth one lakh rupees. He said that on the basis of information received during interrogation of these two accused, the police later arrested two more people. One of them hails from Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh and the other from Durg district of Chhattisgarh. The officer said that the person arrested from the fort had gathered all the equipment including printers at his house to make fake notes. He said that a total of Rs 54 lakh worth of fake notes have been recovered from the possession of the accused. These fake notes were to be supplied to the southern states. The official said that the material and equipment of printing fake notes worth Rs one crore have been recovered from the accused. The officer said that the accused told during interrogation that since February this year till now, fake notes of Rs 50 lakh have been supplied to different people. He said that five printers, two paper cutters, one laptop, one computer, water mark frame, ink and paper used for printing fake notes have also been recovered from the arrested person from Durg.
