The state government will amend the guidelines for submission of fees in private schools issued in June. Chief Minister Hemant Soren made the remarks to the principals of private schools affiliated to ICSE (Board) on Saturday. A delegation of principals came to meet the Chief Minister. During the meeting with the Chief Minister, the principals discussed the problems in running the school due to non-payment of fees by the students. He said the corona infection had disrupted students’ studies at the school. However, students from schools are being taught continuously online. The school’s efforts are to make students aware of the curriculum. On the other hand, there is no change in the daily cost of management even when students do not come to school.
The principals told the chief minister that teachers and staff have to pay salaries, bus fares and other expenses to run the school. In June, a guideline related to school education was issued by the Department of School Education and Literacy, which runs the school. Despite this, students’ fees are not being accepted, which is why school management is now in trouble.
The principals requested the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter and issue a revised guideline. The Chief Minister said that the state government would take initiative in this direction. The occasion was attended by the province’s Superior Father Ajit Khes, St. Francis School Principal Father Manoj, St. Anthony Principal Christopher, St. Thomas Principal Shibu, Bishop Westcote Principal Miss Jacob and St. Xavier’s School Principal Father Sanjay Careketa.
