Home Guard jawans in Jharkhand will not get the same benefits as in Bihar. The state government’s Home, Prisons and Disaster Management Department has informed Parliament about the impact. BJP MLA Kishun Kumar Das had asked a question in the assembly about the Home Guard jawans in the assembly, whether the home guard jawans in Jharkhand will also get other benefits including salary like in Bihar.
What is the government’s response: In response to this question, the state government has made it clear that there is no proposal based on the government’s consideration of providing benefits of provident fund scheme, employee pension scheme, worker deposit linked insurance scheme similar to Bihar government. At the same time, the reply sent to the legislature said that the High Court had directed the Home Guard jawans to be paid equally as members of the police. But the government goes to the High Court against the order, where the matter is under consideration. Note that in Bihar home guards are paid Rs 774 as duty allowance. At the same time, Home Guard jawans in Jharkhand are given a duty allowance of only Rs 500 per day from 1 April 2019.
Movement alert: Rajiv Kumar Tiwari of the Homeguard Welfare Association has warned the movement against the government’s response. He said that in the pre-election promises it was supposed to accept the demand, but now the government has responded to it in the assembly, it is cheating with the Home Guard jawans. Home guards should have a movement strategy, enthusiastic movement will soon make a flexible decision.
