Lalhith was arrested by the Palmu divisional unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday morning near Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar of Hussainabad police station in Palmu district. The ACB team arrested Santosh on Thursday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1,000 to remove Mudala’s name in the assault case and send the accused to jail. Santosh Kumar, 43, was a resident of Dhanbad and was the research officer in the case.
According to the ACB’s Palmu office, 22-year-old Ashish Kumar Yadav alias Kapil, a resident of Sandha Goraithan in Hussainabad police station area, had applied to the SCB office that his father Lalmohan Yadav had filed a case of assault on July 11 at Hussainabad police station. In this case, Nanak Yadav has been made Mudalaya. Nanku Yadav has lodged a counter FIR against Ashish Kumar Yadav and other family members.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar of Hussainabad Police Station has been appointed as research officer in both the cases.
According to the application filed with the ACB, when plaintiff Ashish Kumar Yadav alias Kapil met the investigating officer to know the details of his case, he asked the plaintiff to accuse him and demanded a bribe of Rs 6,000 to remove the name from the case. At the same time he said that opposition parties should be arrested and sent to jail. When the plaintiff said that the defendant had filed a false case, the investigating officer Santosh Kumar warned him not to talk too much and not to pay taxes inside.
The ACB team found the allegation to be true to verify the elements of plaintiff Ashish Kumar Yadav’s application. During the verification, Santosh Kumar demanded Rs. 000,000 and asked the plaintiff to bring the money. On this basis, the Anti-Corruption Team arrested Santosh Kumar, an Assistant Sub-Inspector and Investigating Officer, on the morning of September 24 with a bribe of Rs 000,000 from plaintiff Ashish Kumar Yadav alias Kapil.
