A 24-year-old woman has been allegedly gang-raped in Haryana. The woman was returning home after completing her shift around 3pm on Sunday when three men abducted her from IFFCO Chowk. The accused in the taxi took her to a place in Jhajar, 50 km away and gang-raped her. According to a report in the Times of India – when Jhajjar Puhanchi got a taxi, five people (later two more involved in this heinous crime) stopped him inside the car. It was said that the accused took the victim prisoner and committed a heinous crime with him for several hours. The hunters later dumped him somewhere in Faruknagar and fled. The victim, lying on the ground, somehow called the police for help. At 6:30 a.m. Monday, police arrived to assist him. Police have not yet arrested any of the accused as of press time. However, the victim told the police that Pankaj, Manoj, Vicky, who worked with him, gave their names. The victim, a resident of West Delhi in the national capital, changed the bar at a mall on MG Road at 7pm-3am. It is said that the victim had been using the same route to visit his house in Dwarka for the past one month. By the time he reached IFFCO Square at the end of the day, he was very tired. He was waiting for the taxi to go till Dwarka turn. At one point a taxi approached him and agreed to leave him until he turned to Dwarka. The victim said – the taxi came to me and stopped. In addition to the driver, two of them were already sitting. I had to go to Dwarka. When asked, the driver said he was going there too and agreed to leave me there. I was so tired that I fell asleep as soon as I got in the taxi. The driver then took the car to the other side without going in the right direction. After a while I opened my eyes, looked and saw that ‘Pataudi’ was written on the board. They threatened to kill me if I resisted. The victim said that after a while he parked the car in one place and two more people approached the car.
It may be mentioned that the Manesha Women’s Police Station has filed a case under Sections 3 376D, 506 and 34 of the IPC and started investigation in this regard. Maneshwar’s DCP said the victim’s statement had been recorded. The case is under investigation.
