On September 17, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new Hajipur-Ghoshwar-Baishali and Islampur-Natesa railway line and the Kosi Rail Bridge project. The Prime Minister will dedicate 12 railway projects to the people of Bihar, including the Kosi Bridge and passenger facilities.
Projects to be launched include the Kosi Mahasestu, a new rail bridge over the Kiul River, two new line projects, five electrification projects, an electric loco shed and a third rail line project. Rajesh Kumar, CPRO of East Central Railway, said on Wednesday that the Prime Minister would inaugurate the railway project through video conference.
The Kosi Bridge New Railroad Project was approved in 2003-04. The construction of the 1.9 km long bridge has cost Tk 516 crore. This railway bridge is also very important from the strategic point of view of Indo-Nepal border. The project was finalized during the Kovid epidemic, where migrant workers were also served.
At the same time, people wait year after year for the Ghoshwar-Hajipur-Vaishali railway line. This project has been completed in four and a half billion years. The quality of the railway line was being tested by operating freight trains on this railway line for a week. This railway is very important from a tourism point of view. The Saharsa-Asanpur Kufa Demu train will be launched from Supal station. Once launched, the people of Supal, Araria and Saharsa districts will benefit greatly.
The total length of Saharsa-Saraigarh-Asanpur Kupaha railway is 644 km, trains run from Saharsa to Supaul (226 km). Now that the Kosi Railway Bridge has been constructed, the train will start running from Supal to Asanpur Kufa.
