Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to start his election campaign from October 23 for the Bihar Assembly elections. All eyes are on how effective the Modi factor will be in the elections. Nitish Kumar stood against the BJP in the last elections and despite all the efforts, the Modi factor did not work for the BJP, but this time things are the opposite. This time Modi will want to vote for Nitish Kumar to be the Chief Minister again.
According to political experts, the last election was held in 2015, when Modi’s popularity was at its peak. Nitish Kumar competed against BJP including RJD and succeeded in winning. Modi’s picture did not show any charisma in the Bihar elections then.
It is difficult to come to power alone
Political analyst Sanjay Kumar of CSDS says no party can come to power alone in Bihar. In other words, the two big teams have to be combined, so this time the condition is different. The two great leaders have come together. Bihar has a face. A whole country. It is clear that coming together will benefit the election. It is clear from past experience that Modi alone did not have much of an impact on the party’s victory in the Assembly elections. But everyone has seen that Modi’s name has an impact in the Lok Sabha elections. It also happened in Bihar.
According to Sanjay Kumar, Nitish and Modi together will benefit the NDA. There are two reasons for this. Both Modi and Nitish have their own popularity. Second, the wave of opposition against Nitish Kumar seems to have weakened because of Modi. If Nitish has to fight alone, he will have to deal with much more opposition. The meeting between the two sides made it clear that the NDA was benefiting. However, its effect is difficult to say.
The LJPO will suffer
In the seats where the BJP is contesting the elections, the real face of the party is Narendra Modi. In other words, whatever will be achieved will be in Modi’s face. However, in this case, with the Muslim vote falling from the JDU, the standing LJP candidates will also have some influence in the election. It is difficult to say how much impact this will have.
