The first ICC Test Championship final is to be played between India and New Zealand teams from 18 to 22 June.
Ahead of the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, former spin bowler Sarandeep Singh said that if it is cloudy on June 18 in Southampton, then India can go with four fast bowlers. There will be only one spin bowler in the XI. According to the former cricketer, Ravichandran Ashwin will get this slot i.e. Ravindra Jadeja may remain out of the championship final. Talking to PTI, he said, ‘If it is cloudy then you can play with Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami with an extra fast bowler. “You also need batting options down the order and Shardul provides that option. The bowlers will also get help in Southampton and Shardul can swing the ball. He has many years of experience in domestic cricket and has a very sharp mind when it comes to cricket. Sarandeep said, “If four fast bowlers are selected then Jadeja will have to sit out. Ashwin should play because New Zealand has a lot of left-handed batsmen.
Currently, the Indian team is in Quarantine, but they have got permission to practice in the gym of Ageas Bowl. New Zealand, on the other hand, are busy playing the second Test against hosts England at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
