‘Those who never captained in street cricket are now giving advice to Virat Kohli’

Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian team has reached the 2017 Champions Trophy final, the 2019 World Cup semi-final and the World Test Championship final.

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has questioned people criticizing Virat Kohli for not winning the ICC title. Also Read – Prithvi Shaw can be seen batting in the Test series against England

Significantly, despite reaching the 2017 Champions Trophy final and the 2019 World Cup semi-finals, the Kohli-led team has not won a single ICC title so far. At the same time, after the recent defeat in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, Kohli’s captaincy once again came under question. However, in Akmal’s view, Kohli is the best captain India has after MS Dhoni. Akmal feels that the India captain knows his job, and those who want to sack him should not forget what Kohli has done for his team and players. Akmal in a conversation with sports presenter Savera Pasha on his YouTube channel said, “Virat Kohli is the best captain of India after MS Dhoni. He has 70 centuries. He has played the Champions Trophy and the 2019 World Cup. Sure, India lost but what is their fault in this? India has been number 1 in Tests for five years.

The Pakistani cricketer said, “Look at his achievement, his service….his captaincy is fantastic. There is no doubt about this. He is a fantastic player and the way he has groomed himself is amazing.”

With Kohli not winning a single ICC title so far, Akmal feels it depends on the day of the match and if Kohli is replaced by someone else, it will not guarantee India an ICC title.
