However, the 14th of the IPL had to be postponed midway due to Kovid-19 cases and now the rest of the tournament will be played in the UAE from September 19. Apart from Iyer, the Salil Ankola-led Mumbai selection committee has also picked regular members of the Indian team Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Prithvi Shaw for the camp.
The son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar and left-arm fast bowler Arjun has also been named in the team. “The schedule of the fitness camp will be announced in due course,” the MCA said in a release.
