The Australian T20 team had to face defeat in the series against West Indies and Bangladesh this season.
Australia’s star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell believes that the recent disappointment to the team will not affect his T20 World Cup hopes.
This year has been very tough for the Australian T20 team. The Kangaroo team had to face defeat in the series against West Indies and Bangladesh. However, many of his players did not participate in these two series due to injuries and problems with the bio bubble.
There is no doubt that their team is strong with the inclusion of seven experienced players in the Australian team. These players will have to play a big role if the team has to travel ahead in the tournament.
Maxwell said that there are match winners in Thatim and when they have their day, they can snatch the match from the opposition team. Any day any of our players can win us matches and whenever that happens it will be difficult for anyone to stop us.”
He said, “The most important thing to win the T20 World Cup this year is to start fast. The team will have to start well at the start of the tournament and some of the batsmen will have to be in better form. The bowlers will have to take early wickets and that will be the key to victory for us in the tournament.”
Australia’s group consists of teams like defending champions West Indies, England and South Africa. Australia will start their campaign with a match against South Africa on 23 October.
