Hayden and Philander have been appointed after Misbah-ul-Haq as head coach and Waqar Younis resigning as bowling coach.

Raja was quoted as saying by Cricinfo, “Hayden is an Australian and has the experience of winning the World Cup. Apart from this, he himself is a great player. Also Read – Farooq Engineer is shocked to see Shikhar Dhawan not getting a chance in the T20 World Cup squad
He said, “Having an Australian in the dressing room can be beneficial. Pakistan has also won the World Cup. All they need to do is improve their performance by an additional 10 per cent. I know Philander too and he understands bowling and he has a good record against Australia.
Hayden and Philander have been appointed after Misbah-ul-Haq as head coach and Waqar Younis resigning as bowling coach. Hayden and Philander, however, do not have much coaching experience. Philander retired from cricket in 2020 while Hayden retired in 2009.
