In the first round match played on Wednesday, Bopanna and Shapovalov’s unbeaten pair defeated Chilean Christian Garin and Argentina’s Guido Pella 4-4, 6-4 in straight sets.
Bopanna and Shapovalov will face top-seeded Juan Juan Sebastian Kabal and Robert Farah to advance to the Copa final. Bopanna and Shapovalov reached the quarterfinals of the last Grand Slam US Open of the year, which ended last week.
