On September 21, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 10 runs in the third match of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). At one time it seemed that SRH would easily win this match. SRH’s score was 121 for 2 in 15.1 overs, after which Yuzbendra Chahal turned the match around with his bowling. Chahal took three wickets for just 16 runs in 4 overs and was also named Man of the Match. Captain Virat further believes that Chahal’s bowling was the turning point of the match.
IPL 2020 RCB wins, Anushka Sharma responds
With the start of the win, RCB captain Virat Kohli said, “It’s great and last year we were against this result.” We were patient, Yuji (Yuzbendra Chahal) came and turned the match around for us. He showed that you can take wickets of anyone if you have the skills. The way he came to bowl on the attic line, I think he turned the match around. We had a great start, Angel Padikkal was very good and Aaron Finch also started well.
Padikkal did something that even BCT could not do for RCB
“The way AB de Villiers batted in the last three overs helped bring the score to 1,160,” Virat added. As I said, we didn’t let the bowling department keep the negativity and Shivam Dubey did very well in three overs, it was good to see. After winning the toss, SRH and skipper David Warner decided to bowl first. RCB scored 133 for five in 20 overs thanks to Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers’ half-centuries, while SRH were bowled out for 153 in 19.4 overs. Yuzbendra Chahal took three wickets and Shivam Dubey and Navdeep Saini took two wickets each. With this win RCB reached the top of the points table with a net run rate of +0.500 and two points.
