Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday surpassed the record for most wickets in Twenty20 cricket by Australian women’s wicketkeeper Alyssa Haley. He did so during the second T20 match of the three-match series against New Zealand at Alan Border in Brisbane. Healy now holds the record for sending the most number of pavilions in T20 cricket (including men’s and women’s).

Earlier, the record was held by MS Dhoni, who played a key role in dismissing 91 players behind the wicket. Dhoni has played a total of 98 matches for India in the shortest format of cricket. Speaking of Australia’s female wicketkeeper, she has played in 114 Twenty20 Internationals. If both players are seen, Dhoni has the upper hand in 16 matches less than Healy.

Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket last month. He retired via a post on Instagram on the evening of August 15th. Dhoni is currently busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) released in the UAE and is leading the Chennai Super Kings. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, the team has won one of the three matches it has played so far, the team has lost two matches.
