Speaking to PTI, Sehwan said, “I am very happy that MS (Dhoni) has accepted the offer to be the team mentor for the T20 World Cup. The former explosive opener said, “As a wicketkeeper, MS was exceptional in terms of decorating the fielding and that is something that will help the bowling unit in this World Cup. Bowlers can set their mind and get useful tips to plan against the batsman.
Sehwag said that for young players who are a bit introverted or shy, there cannot be a better ‘mentor’ than Dhoni in the Indian team, especially when they need someone to guide them as they need to express themselves on the field. Let’s try.
Sehwag said, “There are always players in any international team who are shy and hesitate to talk to their captain. MS is always the kind of person the players can easily interact with. He is also a role model troubleshooter for the youth.
The BCCI has announced a 15-man squad with three reserves for the T20 World Cup, while Sehwag believes that the ICC has given time to change players for all teams till October 10, so the Indian Premier League will do well. The players who do will have a chance to make a place in the team.
“He will have a 100 percent chance of making it to the team. We have at least seven matches left for the teams. This means you still have a platform to perform and those who are in the field will still have a chance to impress the Indian selectors. The selectors will also keep an eye on the performance of the tournament.
The ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ said, “The ICC (International Cricket Council) has given a chance to change teams. In such a situation, I will not be surprised if there is any change in the Indian team.
