Devdutt Padikkal excited to learn from coach Rahul Dravid on Sri Lanka tour

Top-order batsman Devdutt Padikkal is part of the Indian team that toured Sri Lanka for the limited overs format series.

“The first time I actually met him during school was at one of our sports day events, where I was supposed to present him a bouquet, that’s when I spoke to him for the first time,” Padikkal told a TV channel. He said, “I have always been amazed at how incredibly calm and gentle Dravid is. Padikkal scored 737 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at an average of 147.4. He scored 473 runs in 15 matches in IPL 2020 and 195 runs in six matches in the 2021 season.

Padikkal said, “There is nothing more you can ask for than having a coach like Dravid. It is a pleasure to have a mentor like him and I hope to learn a lot from him.”
