IPL 2020: Why the CSK will have a lot of problems without Suresh Raina, says former Australian cricketer

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to begin on September 19. The first match is between defending champions Mumbai Indians and last year’s runners-up Chennai Super Kings. This IPL season is a big push for CSK, which has not got Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. Both have moved away from this season for personal reasons. Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones explained why CSK’s problems would be exacerbated by Raina’s absence.

Speaking on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan’, Dean Jones said, ‘Raina will be a big concern as she is not in the pl aying XI this time, she is one of the top five batsmen in the IPL. He bats with his left hand and bats very well against spin. CSK can be a problem as most of their batsmen bat with the right hand. The team needs some left-handed batsmen especially when he is playing against a leg-spinner and the ball is going out.
