Mumbai Indians opened their account by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 49 runs in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday after a great game of batsmen and bowlers. In reply, KKR managed to score 146 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Mumbai gave KKR a target of 196, in response to which Kolkata could score 146 for nine in 20 overs. Tendulkar tweeted that Mumbai’s fast bowlers started well and that Rahul Chahar and Kieron Pollard also gave better support. KKR failed to chase the target as they did not have a big partnership throughout the match.

KKR lost their first match in the IPL for the first time since 2013, with Mumbai registering their first win after six defeats in the UAE.
