An unbeaten 132 off just 14 fours and seven sixes off 699 balls by skipper Lokesh Rahul, Kings XI Punjab beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by nine wickets in the IPL match on Thursday. The tournament recorded its first win in two matches, and Bangalore suffered their first defeat in two matches. Rahul’s blast gave Punjab a massive 206 for three in 20 overs and under the pressure of the huge score, Bangalore were bowled out for just 109 in 1 over and suffered a humiliating defeat. During this match, KL Rahul missed two easy catches for a huge century which later became the main reason for the loss. But let’s look at other reasons that led to the defeat of the RCB.

Bangalore’s defeat in Dubai was even more embarrassing as the Bengaluru team, equipped with star batsmen, also failed to get Rahul’s score. Bangalore were 23 runs behind Rahul’s 132. One of the reasons RCB lost the match was that Virat Kohli decided to field first after winning the toss. If we look at the last few matches, we can see that such a team has lost. Earlier, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first.

The RCB batsmen were under a lot of pressure to chase the 207-run target, so spinners Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi bowled for Kings XI Punjab. Both the bowlers have made good use of Google. These two leg-spinners from Kings XI Punjab took a total of six wickets. The pair have taken three wickets in RCB’s batting. The RCB management could not even come up with a strategy for the duo’s performance.
