The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is now less than two weeks away. The IPL is scheduled to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19 this year due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The first match will be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians. All the teams are training hard at the moment, meanwhile, CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni did something in the practice session, seeing former all-rounder Irfan Pathan completely surprised.
Irfan was quite surprised to see Dhoni practicing wicketkeeping during training and said that he had not seen it before. Last year, Dhoni played his last international match in the 2019 World Cup. Dhoni has been away from competitive cricket since the semi-final match against New Zealand. He announced his retirement from international cricket on the 15th of last month before the IPL. Dhoni was seen practicing batting many times before the match, but practicing wicketkeeping is different.

Speaking to Star Sports, Irfan Pathan said, “We have seen some new visuals where Dhoni is keeping wickets. It never happened, it’s something new, because I’ve played cricket with him for many years, for the Indian team and for CSK in the IPL, but I’ve never seen him wicketkeeping. Pathan added, “Because he probably didn’t play cricket for a long time.” I think there are some leg-spinners in the team, they are looking to see how they are bowlers, but it would be nice to see them practicing wicketkeeping. Pathan said, ‘The good thing is that the practice has started and it is not surprising that fans are flocking to see them. This has been happening for many years. Kobid is there but people are still coming to see Dhoni. ‘
