Arun Jaitley’s son Rohan Jaitley wins uncontested election as DDCA president

Advocate Sunil Kumar Goel submitted his nomination for the post of DDCA president to Rohan Jaitley, but later withdrew his name.

New Delhi: Rohan Jaitley, son of former Union Minister Arun Jaitley and a lawyer, was elected unopposed by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DCCA). Those who submitted nominations for the post have withdrawn their names. However, the official announcement will be made on November 9. The last date for withdrawal of nominations was Saturday (October 17) afternoon. Election Officer Naveen Chawla then released the final list of candidates.

Now from 5 to 8 November, DDCA will elect 4 directors and treasurer positions. The 9th vote will be counted and the results will be announced on this day. Lawyer Sunil Kumar submitted the nomination before Goel Rohan, who later withdrew. Pawan Gulati is in a direct battle with Shashi Khanna for the post of treasurer. Pawan is a relative of former India opener Gautam Gambhir and Shashi is the wife of former BCCI executive chairman CK Khanna.

9 directors are in the race for 4 directors, out of which 4-4 are from two different groups including Ashok Sharma Mama, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Kornail Singh and Pradeep Agarwal. Also present are Harish Singla, Harsh Gupta, Manjit Singh and Sudhir Kumar Agarwal from CK Khana Group. At the same time, a strange name is involved, about which very few people know anything and that is Pradeep Kumar Aurora.

Gulati said, ‘I will fight well. After the election we will sit as a team and work on important issues. DDCA is a sports club and so it should be recognized for the sport. This is my first goal. I wish Shashi Khanna all the best. At the same time, Ashok Sharma wants DDCA members to get maximum benefits.

“We have high expectations from Rohan,” he said. We hope he will concentrate on the long-neglected, ground-level cricket in Delhi. The academies that former President Rajat Sharma promised to open in 2018 are not open. Rohan’s cricket and cricketers’ wealth should be spent.
