Earlier, the administration had decided to stop Rahul Gandhi and other leaders at the Lucknow airport itself. Lucknow Police Commissioner D.K. Thakur told reporters that the Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur district administrations have requested that Rahul Gandhi should not be allowed to enter these districts under any circumstances. He said, “If Rahul Gandhi comes to Lucknow under unavoidable circumstances, we will try to meet him at the airport itself. We would request him not to go to Lakhimpur Kheri or Sitapur. Sitapur District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have conveyed to me in writing that Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is there and the law and order situation there may worsen due to the arrival of Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders. According to Congress sources, party general secretary K. C. Venugopal had sought permission for a delegation led by Rahul Gandhi to visit Lakhimpur Kheri, which was denied by the local administration citing the imposition of prohibitory orders under Section 144 in the district.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in Delhi. He said, the car was mounted on the farmers. He was murdered and the name of the Union Minister and his son is coming in this case. He said, Prime Minister Narendra went to Lucknow, but did not go to Lakhimpur Kheri. He also termed the Lakhimpur Kheri case as a planned attack on farmers.

Rahul Gandhi told the media that it is your responsibility to raise such issues. But when we ask questions, raise such issues, you start accusing us of doing politics. Rahul Gandhi said, we will reach Lakhimpur Kheri and try to meet the affected farmer families.

Along with Rahul Gandhi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Siingh Channi have also left for Lucknow.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been in the custody of Sitapur police since the early hours of Monday, police have registered a case against her and 10 others. He was taken into custody in Sitapur on his way to Lakhimpur Kheri in the early hours of Monday. Vadra alleges that he has been imprisoned in Sitapur PAC premises, violating constitutional rights without any legal basis.

It is worth noting that last Sunday, four farmers were involved in violence in connection with showing black flags by farmers to Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was going to attend a program organized in the native village of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra in Tikoniya area of ​​Lakhimpur Kheri district. Vadra was on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri in the early hours of Monday along with some leaders, including senior party leader Deepender Hooda and Congress’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Ajay Kumar Lallu, to meet the kin of the deceased farmers, but was detained in Sitapur district on the way. Gaya.
