Several opposition parties, including the NDA’s ally Shiromani Akali Dal, have publicly opposed the central government’s introduction of three agriculture-related bills in the current monsoon session. While Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed it a “anti-peasant” move by the Modi government, the National Conference said it should be reconsidered. Opposition to the bill is fierce in many states, including Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Kejriwal says he will vote against the protests
