The decision of the central government – the driving licenses of the criminals of theft and kidnapping will be canceled

For the first time, the central government has decided to revoke their driving licenses (DLs) to punish criminals who steal or abduct passengers. For this the government will resort to information technology. All documents related to DL and vehicles will be downloaded to M-Transport and electronic records will be kept. States also need to create their own portals related to M-Transport. The government’s decision will curb corruption in the Regional Transport Office (RTO).

On Friday, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued multiple notifications simultaneously. A senior ministry official said legislation had been enacted to revoke the driving licenses of those who stole vehicles for the first time. Under the current system, the police would send an FIR to the moving departments and if a car thief fell, they would be sent to jail. There was no way to cancel his DL. States have been asked to create a new portal. The police have to mention about the thief in the portal. Based on this, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) will cancel its DL.

Similarly, the government has decided to cancel the DL of the drivers who hijacked the passengers. Gurmeet, who is involved in the transport business, says the safety of single women traveling in cab-taxis will be further strengthened. At the same time criminals driving trucks, buses, taxis will be identified. In the second notification of the ministry, it will be mandatory for the state police, transport department or other officers posted in uniform to enter the state portal with the number of all vehicles parked on the road and information about the driver. Whose documents are complete and no e-invoices need to be mentioned. Also, the report with the stop signature must be uploaded. This will prevent unreasonable exploitation of the drivers.

State registration of driving license is mandatory

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made it mandatory for all state governments to register a state of driving license in the new Division 25A. It will record complete details about the driver and the vehicle. In addition, the State Register has to be attached to the National Register of Driving Licenses of the Central Government. Each driver’s unique driving license number will be issued in the National Register. Without this number the state government will not be able to renew the DL of any person or create a new DL. The process of connecting all driving licenses across the country with Aadhaar number is underway. Creating fake DLs will not be easy.
