It further said that India is the only country where most of the patients have recovered from the epidemic. Global mortality rates are also very low. The last time on September 1 was 7,85,996.

The health ministry said on Saturday that 10 states and union territories accounted for 6 per cent of the cases recovered. “More than 13,000 patients have recovered in Maharashtra. In Karnataka, the number stood at 8,000,” the press release said.

On Saturday, 799% of the 2,212 newly confirmed cases came from 10 states and union territories. The ministry said there were still more than 11,000 new cases in Maharashtra, followed by more than 7,000 in Karnataka and Kerala. As of Saturday morning, 837 people had died and about 82 percent had died in 10 states and union territories.
