Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged the party’s Tamil Nadu unit to work hard. So that the party can gain power on its own for the next five years. Amit Shah’s statement comes after the AIADMK announced that it would continue the alliance with BJP in the state’s 2021 assembly elections.
AIADMK made this announcement during a Chennai event. Before leaving Chennai on Sunday, Amit Shah held marathon meetings with AIADMK and BJP leaders in a private hotel overnight. According to a senior party leader, Amit Shah has asked the BJP district in-charge and office bearers to bring the BJP to Tamil Nadu. The leader said that we have now received a clear guideline.
The leader said that he (Shah) has asked us to go ahead on our own, strengthen booth committees and give the party all its time for the next five years. The senior BJP leader said that the electoral alliance has been confirmed once again. Since the national leaders were here, the AIADMK offered that they were ready and welcomed their claim. However, the final decision on the alliance will be taken by BJP President JP Nadda. The leader said that an early alliance is a good thing for us. It is very quick and untimely.
At the same time, an AIADMK leader said that he had no idea that the alliance would be announced on Saturday. However, Amit Shah did not publicly say anything about the alliance. However, he definitely said that the Center led by Narendra Modi will support the state government. Amit Shah, who arrived in Tamil Nadu, first met Chief Minister K Palaniswami and Deputy CM O Panneerselvam. After this, a meeting was held with BJP officials and new members.
