The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested comedian (comedian) Bharti Singh after the cannabis was recovered from his house in Andheri. An official gave this information. The NCB searched Singh’s home and office in connection with an investigation into alleged drug use in the Hindi film industry.
According to NCB, a team led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede searched Bharti Singh’s residence at Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri based on specific information. 86.5 grams of hemp has been recovered from his house. The NCB said in a statement that Bharti and her husband Harsh Limbachiya both admitted to consuming cannabis.
According to experts, the quantity of hemp recovered from Bharti’s house is very less. As such it cannot be included in the commercial. It is included in the commercial when the quantity of marijuana is more than 900 grams or sometimes it is considered to be up to one kilo gram. In such a situation, if this matter goes to court then there are many options also. One of which is that you apologize and go to the rehabilitation center or if it does not stop addiction then the court can also sentence.
Bharti Singh was arrested under the Narcotics Act and Limbachia is under investigation. A bureau official said that the quantity allegedly recovered from Singh’s house was a lesser quantity under the law. Up to a thousand grams of hemp is considered a small quantity and can be punishable by up to six months in jail or a fine of Rs 10,000 or both.
Commercial quantities (20 kg or more) can result in up to 20 years in prison. There may be a 10-year prison sentence for the amount between it. The officer said, Singh’s name came up during questioning from a drug dealer. He said that the agency is also conducting searches at two other locations in the metropolis.
Bharti Singh has appeared in many comedy and reality shows on TV. NCB is investigating the alleged use of narcotics in Bollywood following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June.
