On Sunday, there was a clash between the Maoists and the CRPF’s Cobra Battalion 207 on the Dhara-Kharagpur border in Bihar’s Munger district. During this time, the CRPF fired more than 100 rounds at the Naxalites. The DIG reported casualties from the Naxals in the encounter.
A search operation is being carried out to find the injured Naxals. Other items including weapons, IDs and grenades were recovered during the search after clashes with the Naxals. After the battle, a group from Barmasia and Dharara Bhimbandha entered the forest. The Naxals saw the police and started firing angrily.
The Naxals were later fired upon from the Cobra Battalion. The Naxals fired cobra shots from the battalion and retreated. Subsequently, a search operation was conducted in the forests in a planned manner. The campaign in the forest continued till the news was written.
During the operation, the Cobra Battalion recovered a pistol, two radio sets, a grenade, ID items, election-related papers, food items, utensils and other items including four pivot bags.
DIG Manu Maharaj said a search operation was being carried out against the Naxals in the forest for the past one week. Meanwhile, on Sunday, 20 to 25 Naxalite CRPF cobra battalions led by Sahadeva Soren alias Presh were confronted at the Dharara-Kharagpur border in Munger district. No casualties were reported from the police. Casualties have been reported from the Naxals.
