Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday pleaded not to be confused by rumors about the safety and efficacy of the coronavirus vaccine. Also, he said there would be no agreement before any protocol is approved.
Harsh Vardhan said that in the first phase of vaccination, free vaccines would be provided to the highest priority people, including one crore health workers and two crore front workers. He said details on how to vaccinate 227 million people by July were being finalized on a priority basis. These beneficiaries include people over the age of 50 and those younger than those already suffering from any disease.

“We will not compromise on any protocol before the vaccine is approved,” he said while visiting GTB Hospital in Delhi to review the vaccine rehearsal. Harsh Vardhan said that even when there was a campaign to eradicate polio in the country, there was a dilemma about its vaccine, but we should remember its success.
Harsh Vardhan tweeted that in the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination, free vaccine will be provided to the beneficiaries across the country. He said this included one crore health workers and two crore frontline workers. He said it was being finalized how the 227 million priority recipients would be vaccinated by July.
Harshvardhan also reviewed the rehearsal of Kovid-19 Ticker at Nagar Primary Health Center in Dariaganj. The exercise began at three places in Delhi on Saturday, officials said.
