On former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s birthday, veteran Congress leader and former home minister P Chidambaram has demanded the country’s highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna. On Saturday, 88-year-old Manmohan Singh was the country’s prime minister for 10 years during the UPA regime and was also the finance minister in the previous PV Narasimha Rao government.
Chidambaram tweeted, “Today is Dr. Manmohan Singh’s birthday.” I wish the former Prime Minister good health and his service to the nation for many years to come. The story of Dr. Singh’s life is the story of a young boy in a general environment who has reached the heights of public service, who had only one tool – his studies and scholarship. ”

He said, “The whole country is proud of Dr. Singh’s life and service and every boy or girl is given his example. If anyone living in public life is eligible for the Bharat Ratna, he must be Dr. Manmohan Singh.” P Chidambaram was the Union Home Minister and Finance Minister.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Manmohan Singh on his birthday. Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Happy Birthday to Dr. Manmohan Singh G. I pray to God to grant him a long and healthy life.” Born on September 2, 1971 in the village of Gah in Pakistan, which was part of the pre-partition United Punjab.
