37 return from infected UK in Kerona, 5338 new cases of Covid-19 in Kerala

Three people who recently returned to Kerala from the United Kingdom have been infected with the coronavirus, 3322 new cases of the disease were reported in the state on Saturday and 4,975 people have been cleared of the infection. Health Minister K. Who Who Shailja gave. Shailja said the number of people infected with the coronavirus has risen to 11,251 and increased to 2,5 c persons. He said 2,40,490 people were being monitored in different districts. Of these, 11,611 are hospitalized.

The Minister said that the Covid-19 vaccine exercise has been successful and the state is fully prepared to receive and administer the vaccine. He said 3.13 lakh people had registered for the vaccine in the first phase. Samples from returnees from the UK have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) for further investigation. The minister said the results of 11 investigations came from NIV and none of them were suffering from the new format of the virus.

Shailja said in a press release that no one who had returned in the last 24 hours had been found infected. There are 65,374 patients with coronavirus in the state, and 21 more have died from the infection in the past few days, taking the number to 3,116. The minister said 54,098 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the infection rate was 9.6 per cent. He said 60,1,622 samples have been sent for testing.

Of the 14 districts, Ernakulam has the highest number of 343 new cases, followed by Kozhikode with 59 Mala, Malapupur with 560 and Kasargod with 83 cases. Of the newly infected, 57 were health workers, 78 were out-of-state and 4,601 were infected through contact.
