New Delhi. At the request of various political parties, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh discussed with the leaders of the parties in East Ladakh the unilateral change by the Chinese military to the Line of Actual Control and the full development of military tensions due to it.
Sources said that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had given appropriate information to the leaders of various political parties after hearing their questions in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. At the meeting, a Chinese newspaper also sought a report in an English newspaper about large-scale espionage in India.
Sources said the defense minister would make a statement in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Rajnath Singh has issued a statement in the Lok Sabha to clarify the whole situation over the military tensions between India and China, over which Congress leaders tried to ask questions. Several members of the opposition walked out of Parliament after Speaker Om Birla was not allowed to ask questions.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is regularly trying to sway the Modi government over India’s relations with China. He is blaming the government every day on Twitter for confusing the country with the China dispute and intimidating Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, while delivering a stern message to China in his speech in the Lok Sabha, said that his efforts to unilaterally change the situation in the border region of East Ladakh were by no means acceptable. India wants to resolve this issue through dialogue but is ready for any situation to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He cited the background to the Indo-China border dispute and said that China had unauthorized occupation of about 36,000 sq km of land in Ladakh. Also, under a so-called border agreement in 1963, Pakistan illegally handed over 5,160 sq km of Indian land to China from parts of its occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Defense Minister said that we are standing step by step with our brave soldiers who are defending the country regardless of their lives despite the adverse conditions on the inaccessible peaks of the Himalayas. He also paid tribute to Colonel Santosh Babu and the 19 soldiers who made the highest sacrifice in the Galvan Valley on 15 June.
