Tamil Nadu Weather Update The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in many districts of Tamil Nadu on Sunday and for the next few days. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Nilgiris, Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Kallakuruchi, Tiruvannamalai and Tiruchi.Also Read – Rain breaks 120-year record in Kerala, highest rainfall in the month of October
The IMD has predicted that a low pressure area is likely to move towards north Tamil Nadu in the next two days and rain will continue over the north coastal region of the state on November 11 and 12. Officials said that from November 10, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Chennai and its surrounding areas. Chennai has already been receiving heavy rains for the past few days and people are being shifted from low-lying areas of the city, including Anna Nagar. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is likely to visit the submerged areas of Chennai on Sunday and has directed officials to closely monitor the storage levels of the dams.
